Who knows ‘Bauch von Berlin’ (The Belly of Berlin) and what does ‘Der lange Jammer’ (The Long Lament) have to do with it? Where was Werner Gladow, the ‘Al Capone of Berlin’, arrested and why do people throw vegetables once a year on the Oberbaumbrücke? Where can I get clothing made by local designers? What about the best food and the biggest cocktails in the neighbourhood? We can reveal all that to you, but let’s not forget the ‘workers’ palaces’ along Karl-Marx-Allee, the feisty Simon-Dach-Straße and the traditional market at Boxhagener Platz. We will end our city tour at the East Side Gallery, the longest preserved section of the Berlin Wall.
